Guangdong Province, located at the southernmost tip of Chinese mainland, is located in the South China Sea, across the Qiongzhou Strait from Hainan Island, and adjacent to Hongkong, Macau, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi and other provinces. Since ancient times, it has been an important departure port and transit port for China's foreign exchanges, and now it is also the gateway for China's opening to the outside world. After more than 2,000 years of immigration and development, Guangdong has not only nurtured a unique "Lingnan culture", but is now one of the richest provinces in China. After entering the new century, the urbanization process of cities in Guangdong has been accelerated. In order to expand the urban area, two major cities have completed the county reform, one is the provincial capital Guangzhou, and the other is close to Guangzhou.

Foshan is located in the middle of Guangdong Province, in the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta. Foshan is a historic town in China, one of the "Four Famous Towns" and "Four Wonders in the World". It has always been under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou, and now it is closely attached to Guangzhou. "Guangfo City" has always been a hot topic. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Foshan set up a city, and there was once a Foshan area. In the new century, there are still four counties (county-level cities) in Foshan, which were abolished at the end of 2002 and changed into municipal districts.

The South China Sea has a long history and talented people come forth in large numbers. After Ping Ling of Qin Dynasty established Panyu County in Nanhai County, Panyu County was changed to Nanhai County in the 10th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 590), and Panyu County was established in Tang Dynasty. After that, Nanhai County and Panyu were in the same city and were under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou (roads, houses, etc.). ), and Foshan Town has always been under its jurisdiction.

In the early Republic of China, Nanhai County moved to Foshan. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), it successively belonged to the Pearl River Special Zone, Guangdong Central Administrative Region, Foshan Special Zone, Foshan District and Foshan City. The 1990s was one of the "Four Little Tigers in Guangdong". 1992 was changed to county-level Nanhai City, and Guangdong Province was directly under the jurisdiction of Foshan City. At the end of 2002, it was revoked as Nanhai District, Foshan City.

Shunde has developed economy and prospered culture since ancient times. After the Qin Dynasty designated Lingnan as the territory of China, it successively belonged to Panyu County and Nanhai County. In the third year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1452), Nanhai County and Xinhui County each set up Shunde County. Because it was established after the Huang Xiaoyang Uprising was pacified, it took the name of Shunde County, meaning "Shuntian Mingde", and it was under the jurisdiction of guangzhou fu until the end of the Qing Dynasty.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Shunde County belongs to the Pearl River region, and 1952 belongs to the administrative region of central Guangdong. 1958 merged with Panyu county, and Fanshun county belongs to Foshan area. 1959 the separation of the two counties still belongs to Foshan area, and then belongs to Foshan area and Foshan city. Sanshui, named after the confluence of Xijiang River, Beijiang River and Suijiang River in China, is located in the hinterland of Guangdong Province, with a long history but its capital was established late. The Ming Dynasty was in the same county as Shunde. In the fifth year of Jiajing (1526), Nanhai County and Gaoyao County were located in Sanshui County and belonged to guangzhou fu. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Sanshui County was successively subordinate to the Pearl River Special Zone, Guangdong Central Administrative Region, Foshan Special Zone and Foshan City. 1993, changed to Sanshui City, a county-level city directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, and still managed by Foshan City. At the end of 2002, county-level cities were abolished and Sanshui District of Foshan City was established.

Gaoming once had the reputation of "a county with a good style of writing" in history. Its history can be traced back to Gaoming Village established in the Western Han Dynasty. From the Han Dynasty to the Western Jin Dynasty, it was always Gaoyao County. Since the Western Jin Dynasty, it has been fortunate to have Pingping, Qingtai and other counties, and it was restored to Gaoyao County in the Northern Song Dynasty. The organizational system of Gaoming County began in the Ming Dynasty. In the 11th year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1475), Gaoming County was established, which was under the jurisdiction of Zhaoqing Government until the end of Qing Dynasty.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Gaoming County belongs to Xijiang District, and 1952 belongs to the administrative region of central Guangdong. 1958 Gaohe County, jointly built with Heshan County, is under the jurisdiction of Jiangmen District, and then under the jurisdiction of Zhaoqing District, Foshan District and Foshan District. 198 1, Gaoming county and Heshan county resumed their organizational systems, Gaoming county still belongs to Foshan area, and 1983 belongs to Foshan city. 1994 Gaoming County was changed to county-level Gaoming City, which was directly under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province and managed by Foshan City. At the end of 2002, county-level cities were abolished and Gaoming District of Foshan City was established.
