Dialect in Wenxing Town

There are many dialects in Xiangyin, which can be roughly divided into four dialect areas and one dialect island. Wenxing Town, the county seat, belongs to the new Xiang dialect area of Xiang dialect. From the Five Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jiangxi people moved to Xiangyin one after another, so the county dialect has many factors of Gan dialect, similar to Nanchang dialect. Nanhu Chu Xiao belongs to Xiangyin, Yuanjiang County on 1954, which is basically Yiyang dialect. Chengnan, Lingbei, Xinquan and Haohe belong to Changsha dialect. Yanglinzhai township belongs to the immigrant settlement in Zhexi reservoir area, and its language belongs to Loushao dialect in Hunan dialect. Now, young people can speak Mandarin.
