Chaoshan dialect

Chaozhou dialect is widely used in Chaoshan area, and Hakka dialect is spoken in some Hakka areas in mountainous areas.

The accent of Chaozhou dialect varies greatly in local counties, even if there are one or two towns in a county, there may be obvious differences.

But in general, Chaozhou dialect is generally divided into:

Hanjiang River Basin accent: The whole area of Chaozhou north of Shantou Bay, namely Chenghai County (Jinping, Longhu and Chenghai), Nan 'ao County and Liulang area of Fengshun County, Meizhou City. This is the standard pronunciation of Chaozhou dialect.

Lianjiang River Basin accent: South of Shantou Bay is the original Chaoyang County (Chaoyang, Chaonan and Haojiang District), and Jieyang City has jurisdiction over Huilai County, south-central Puning.

Rongjiang River Basin accent: Rongcheng District, Jiedong District, Jiexi County, northern Puning City, Jieyang City, and Tangnan District, Fengshun County, Meizhou City.

Of course, it can be subdivided, so I won't go into details here.
