"decoupling" from the mainland? Democratic Progressive Party committed suicide.

The Democratic Progressive Party authorities who deliberately advocate "cross-strait decoupling" are playing tricks again recently. On September 4th, Taiwan Province's economic and foreign affairs departments encouraged the American Association in Taiwan and Japanese and European representatives in Taiwan to discuss "restructuring the supply chain" in order to "get rid of excessive dependence on other countries". Some media in Taiwan Province Province said that this forum will send a strong signal of "industrial decoupling" to the mainland.

Then the problem is coming. Is it possible for the two sides to "decouple the economy"? The structure of factor resources in Taiwan Province Province determines that the economic development is bound to be closely linked with the mainland. Trying to "decouple" from the mainland is undoubtedly a kind of "crazy and dangerous" suicide.

Taiwan Province Province is an island with a typical export-oriented economy, and the mainland is the largest source of trade surplus in Taiwan Province Province. The data shows that Taiwan Province's trade dependence on the mainland is as high as 4 1%. The mainland is the largest and most suitable market in Taiwan Province Province, and it is also the most suitable hinterland for development. 90% of Chinese medicine in Taiwan Province Province comes from the mainland, and auto parts come from the mainland. Farmers, fishermen, tourists and retailers depend on the mainland for their income, and the cross-strait economy is inseparable. How can I cut them off?

Especially in the context of the global economy being hit by the COVID-19 epidemic, the mainland market has a greater impact on Taiwan Province Province than before. In the first half of this year, Taiwan Province's export dependence on the mainland rose to 45%, and Taiwan Province's trade surplus with the mainland reached $70 billion from October to July. Taiwanese investment in the mainland has also increased substantially. In the first half of this year, the investment amount was USD 365,438+RMB 700 million, a year-on-year increase of 52.49%. Among them, the amount of investment in the mainland in June was US$ 497 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.86%. Taiwanese businessmen do not want to miss the mainland, the largest and fastest growing market in the world.

Capital has the most sensitive sense of smell. Taiwanese businessmen favor the mainland, not only because it is the second largest economy in the world, but also because it is the economy with the best epidemic control and the earliest return to normal operation. On the other hand, the United States is deeply mired in the epidemic and its economy has been hit hard. The epidemic situation in Japan and Europe has also rebounded several times, and the economy has shrunk to a record. Obviously, if Taiwan Province Province wants to improve and develop its economy, it must rely on the mainland market, and "decoupling" is a false proposition.

The great pain after "economic decoupling" from the mainland is unbearable for Taiwan Province Province. At present, the impact of COVID-19 epidemic on Taiwan Province's economy is increasingly apparent. Tourism has fallen to the bottom, unpaid vacation has become a "hot word" on the island, agricultural products are unsalable and private consumption has been greatly reduced. The "boring economy" continues to ferment in Taiwan Province Province, and the people are miserable. However, the Democratic Progressive Party authorities are bent on dragging down the overall well-being of the people in Taiwan Province Province, regardless of fancy renovation and "cross-strait economic decoupling".

Everything is caused by "Taiwan independence Ideology". After taking office, the Democratic Progressive Party authorities forced the "new economy southward" policy, begged to sign an FTA with the United States, and refused to miss the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative, which seriously damaged the competitiveness of Taiwan Province Province. And the result? The "new southward direction" was devastated, and the proportion of Taiwan Province's exports to ASEAN dropped to the lowest level in 10. FTA was flatly rejected by the United States several times and failed again and again. Now the authorities in green camp and Democratic Progressive Party are not only not rethinking, but also stepping up their efforts to seek "economic decoupling" from the mainland, fearing that they have not tasted enough bitter fruit. These small moves can neither resist the market rules nor reverse the general trend of cross-strait economic and social integration and development, and will only aggravate the "blood loss" dilemma of Taiwan Province's economy.

In fact, the key for Taiwan Province Province to get rid of the "boring economy" lies in the cross-strait economic and social integration and development. If Taiwan Province continues to promote cross-strait economic institutionalized cooperation, promote the implementation of cross-strait service trade agreements, and negotiate and sign goods trade agreements with the mainland, then all industries on the island, especially the modern service industries that are still more competitive, can make full use of the vast mainland market, realize their own development and growth, provide more high-paying and high-quality jobs, and improve the structural dilemma of stagnant real wage growth of the people on the island.

Regrettably, the political manipulation by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities has prevented cross-strait economic and trade exchanges from benefiting more compatriots in Taiwan Province Province. The industrial and commercial circles on the island are worried that if the two sides of the strait "decouple", the economic situation in Taiwan Province Province will be even more severe after the epidemic.
