"Song Genealogy" contains: "The founder was shy and capable. The village's "Inscription of Jiansan Temple" contains: "Song Gonglan began to move here in the thirty-eighth year of Qing Daoguang." The Song family should have settled here during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.

Song Ben, a 72-year-old man in the village, said: The surname of Song was originally from Shijiaya, Laiwu County. During the light years of Qing Dynasty, flash floods broke out and Shijiaya was washed away. My Zulan began to settle down at a height of half a mile to the east of the village, hoping not to be hurt by the flood again, because the village was named "Taiping Zhuang". Because the village is located under Dongdaling, it was later renamed Dongling.
