Luodai Town, located in Dongshan, Chengdu, Sichuan, is an ancient Hakka town. Founded in the Three Kingdoms period, formerly known as Zhen Zichang ②. According to legend, the jade belt of Liu Chan, the last ruler of Shu-Han Dynasty, fell into an octagonal well next to the town (now located at the east rear side of the high school teaching building of Zhenluodai Middle School), which was named as "Luodai" and later evolved into "Luodai". During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it belonged to Lingquan County, Chengdu, ranking first among the "three towns" in Dongshan. Luodai Town is located at the junction of Chengdu Plain and Longquan Mountain Range, 8km from Longquan Street, where the People's Government of Longquanyi District of Chengdu is located in the south, 3km from the main urban area of Chengdu in the west, 43km from Shuangliu International Airport, 3km from the entrance of Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway Sunshine City and 6km from Hong 'an Railway Station. Now it is the main area of Chengdu's eastward development. City Ring Road bypasses Luodai. In 2009, the Longquanyi section of Chengluo Avenue, which passed the "four-way widening and reconstruction project" in Longquanyi District, has become a two-way eight-lane (excluding non-motorized vehicles) and is the main road in Chengdu, connecting Luodai Town and Chengdu.
More than 400 years ago, a group of Hakkas moved from coastal areas to Luodai Town, the eastern suburb of Chengdu, with the immigration tide of "Huguang filling Sichuan". After that, Luodai Town gradually developed into the town with the largest concentration of Hakkas in western China, and was called "the first town of Hakkas in western China".
It covers an area of 43 square kilometers and has a population of 30,479. More than 90% of them are Hakkas, who speak Hakka dialect and follow Hakka customs. There are many legends and historical sites in Luodai town, and the old streets in the town are mainly in the architectural style of Qing Dynasty. Four major Hakka guildhall, Hakka Museum and Hakka Park, such as Huguang and North Sichuan, are located in it, which is also called "Hakka Town" and "Hometown of Guildhall". Now it is a national AAAA-level scenic spot.
