First of all, it is necessary to clarify that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Bureau issued two announcements on March 26 and September 23, 2020, "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Immigration of the People's Republic of China" The Administration’s Announcement on Temporarily Suspending the Entry of Foreigners Holding Valid Chinese Visas and Residence Permits (hereinafter referred to as the 3-26 Announcement), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Immigration Administration of the People’s Republic of China and the National Immigration Administration’s Announcement on Allowing Foreigners Holding Valid Chinese Visas and Residence Permits to Enter Announcement on the Entry of Foreigners with Valid Residence Permits (hereinafter referred to as the 9-23 Announcement)

The 9-23 Announcement does not abolish the 3-26 Announcement, but is an important supplement to the 3-26 Announcement. After understanding this, we will know which foreigners can go to China:

1. Foreigners holding diplomatic, official, courtesy, and C visas can enter China.

2 Foreigners holding visas issued after March 28, 2020 can enter the country.

3 Foreigners holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal affairs and reunion can enter the country.

4 Foreigners holding Chinese work, personal affairs and reunion residence permits that have expired after March 28, 2020 can apply for a new visa to enter the country.
