The plot synopsis of Eternal Lilia

The story takes place in contemporary Russia, where 13-year-old Leah lives on the streets of Moscow. Like many girls struggling at the bottom of society in this cruel era, she shamelessly strives for survival while retaining a kind and innocent nature deep in her heart. She brags to her friends that she will have the opportunity to immigrate to the United States thanks to her mother's new boyfriend. But when she returned home, her mother told her that she could only stay and live with her aunt.

After her aunt came, her life became even worse. Abandoned and abused by adults, Leah turns to a boy who is as lonely and helpless as she is to find comfort. They built their own temporary home in hopes of starting a new life. But the outside world ruthlessly invades this small world and destroys the young protagonist.

It is the most heart-wrenching movie to come out of Sweden in recent years. Moodyson fully integrates himself into Leah's world, juxtaposing the innocence of youth with the harsh life, imaginary angels and real demons. We can often predict the dangers and sufferings that will befall Leah, and Our ignorant protagonist is completely ignorant, which adds to the cruelty of the film. Leah's fairy tale fantasy makes everything even more ironic.

In order to eat, Lilia had no choice but to sell her body.
