Can people with criminal record go to Australia?

It is ok to travel abroad with a criminal record. There is no problem in applying for a passport, but if the criminal record is serious, the consulate may refuse the visa. If you want to work abroad, or you are already abroad, and you want to apply for a green card for permanent residence, that's no good. Work abroad/green card/naturalization/marriage/immigration, etc. All require "no crime notarization and background investigation". If you have a criminal record, you can't pass and deal with it.
