Which countries did Japan invade?

China, Soviet Union (Sakhalin Island and South Thousand Islands), North Korea, South Korea, Philippines in Southeast Asia, Malaysia (including Sabah and Sarawak, both in North Borneo), Singapore, Brunei, Portuguese East Timor, Dutch East India (Indonesia), French India (Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia) and Myanmar.

Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands (Guadao is one of the main islands), Micronesia (Federated States of), Marshall Islands and Palau in Oceania are three western Pacific island countries.

Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, midway, wake island, northern Australia, India-Myanmar border and the coast of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the Pacific Ocean of the United States were also occupied by Japan.

Thailand was spared because of its ambiguous relationship with Japan (having joined the Axis Group).
