There is no way to survive, which is a cooperative simulation game based on the "Big Bang" mission of StarCraft II: Wings of Freedom. Similar to the Big Bang mission, the story takes place on a human immigrant planet that has been completely invaded by aliens. The whole game switches repeatedly between two stages, namely night and day.

At night, players and a teammate must fight a large number of incoming mutant creatures to protect the base from being destroyed. At this stage, it is very important to rely on defensive buildings, such as bunkers, to block the entrance of the base, thus helping to defend against the attack of alien insects. Players must also pay attention to some special insect units, such as bomb bugs and mammoths, whose special skills can crush the strongest defense lines.

During the day, the attack on the base will stop, giving players and teammates some time to train more units and leave the base to destroy the infected human buildings on the whole map. During this period, it is also a good strategy to consolidate fortifications and resist fierce attacks by exotic insects at night.

It is not easy to win a glimmer of hope in the game where there is no escape. Players need some help in the whole process. In addition to the support of teammates, players can also obtain different insect biomass by killing special different insect units and destroying infected buildings. Heteroinsect biomass is equivalent to a new currency in the game, which can be used to develop new units and buildings of scientific research stations, such as medical soldiers, fire bats and doomsday turrets. Players and teammates can use these upgrades to improve their chances of survival in fighting different insects.
