There are two kinds of visas for visiting relatives in Australia. One is a 679-category sponsored family visit visa, and the other is a 676-category visit visa. The former (category 679) is applicable to citizens who have settled in Australia and permanent residents with PR, who can sponsor relatives to visit Australia for a short time. According to the immigration law, relatives refer to: spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, children, aunts/aunts, uncles/nieces, nephews/nephews, grandparents/grandparents, grandchildren and corresponding "steprelatives" and adopted relatives. All applications must be submitted by the guarantor or the entrusted immigration agent at the Australian Immigration Department. Generally speaking, you are only allowed to stay for three months, and you can stay for twelve months under special circumstances. The latter (category 676) is suitable for international students who currently hold Australian student visas.
Apply for a tourist visa (category 676) and stay for three months, six months or twelve months. Generally, it takes three months to apply for the first time, which is easy to approve, short in time and does not require a medical examination. The materials to be provided are: (1) Fill in 48CHS in English and sign it; (2) Fill in the family member form in English and sign it; (3) A valid passport; (4) A recent passport photo; (5) Each applicant submits an application fee. The application fee can be submitted at the window or by postal remittance. Please don't send cash. At the same time, some supplementary materials should be provided: a copy of the first page of the passport, a copy of the household registration book, and a bank deposit certificate-proof that there are enough funds to travel, real estate license, employment certificate, position, working hours, salary, etc. If you retire, provide proof of retirement. Invitation letters and notarial relations from Australian students to their parents. If you apply for more than three months, you must have a physical/chest X-ray examination in a designated hospital. If you are an applicant over 70 years old, you must also provide private health insurance, which must cover your medical expenses during your stay in Australia. The Australian Embassy in China can accept Chinese materials, but it is best to provide English translation. All passports submitted to the visa office must be signed by the holder. Applications containing false or misleading information may be rejected.
From July 1 2006, the visa application fee is RMB 460 yuan. Applicants can remit money through China Post Office. Please pay attention to the following points when remittance: Please fill in all materials in Chinese, and the remittance amount is correct. The payee's address must be filled in the money order, and the detailed address and full name of the applicant must be filled in the money order.
