Although Cook once suspected that there might be a considerable area of ??land under the ice at the South Pole, the British felt that there was no need to enter the ice-covered sea to search, and the risk was not worth taking. European explorers successively discovered some islands around the Antarctic continent. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Antarctic continent was discovered. However, due to the cold climate of Antarctica, there are no permanent residents or immigrants from other places, so there are no settlers, and no government or country has been established.

Representatives of 13 countries including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, France, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Soviet Union signed the "Antarctic Treaty" in Washington. The treaty stipulates that Antarctica shall be used for peaceful purposes only, guarantees the freedom to conduct scientific expeditions in the Antarctic region, promotes international cooperation in scientific expeditions, prohibits all activities of a military nature, nuclear explosions and the disposal of radioactive materials in the Antarctic region, and freezes territorial ownership advocates promoting international cooperation in science.

According to the Antarctic Treaty, Antarctica is used only for peaceful purposes. It can be said that Antarctica does not belong to any country, it belongs to all mankind. Therefore, there is no "dare" or "dare not". I just say that this is a symbol of peace and harmony for all mankind! But entering the Antarctic interior and the South Pole is not easy. Severe extreme cold with a maximum temperature of more than -90 degrees Celsius, polar day and night weather that lasts for half a year at a time, murderous white wasteland, and extremely difficult transportation and logistics have brought many obstacles to deep Antarctic exploration.
