How difficult is it for foreigners to immigrate to China?

According to Article 6 of the Administrative Measures for Examination and Approval of Permanent Residence of Foreigners in China, foreigners applying for permanent residence in China shall abide by the laws of China, be in good health and have no criminal record, and meet one of the following conditions:

1, domestic direct investment, stable investment for three consecutive years, good tax record;

2. Hold the post of deputy general manager or deputy factory director or above in China, or have the post of associate professor or associate researcher or above and enjoy the same treatment, have served for four consecutive years, have resided in China for not less than three years in four years, and have a good tax record;

3. Those who have made significant and outstanding contributions to China and have special needs of the country;

4. Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 1, 2 and 3 of this paragraph;

5. The spouse of a China citizen or a foreigner who has obtained the permanent residence qualification in China, who has lived in China for five years and has lived in China for not less than nine months each year, and has a stable living guarantee and residence;

7. Persons who have no immediate family members abroad, have taken refuge with immediate family members in China, have reached the age of 60, have lived in China for five consecutive years, have lived in China for not less than nine months every year, and have stable living security and residence.

The term "fixed number of years" as mentioned in this article refers to the continuous term before the date of application.
