Why is Chenyang Town in Sheyang County called Chenyang Town?
Historically, Chenyang Town belongs to Old Funing County, Jiangsu Province, and is the ninth district. In the early days of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Yang Chen was occupied. 1942 after the establishment of Sheyang county, Yang Chen is the seat of Sheyang county Committee and the political, economic and cultural center of Sheyang county. 1952, due to the development of the situation, the county party Committee moved to Hede Town and established Chenyang District. Hongfeng People's Commune was established in September of 1958, renamed as Chenyang People's Commune in September of 1959, and established as an organizational town in September of 1984, named as Chenyang Town.
