German primary school admission application process

With the improvement of people's living standards, more and more people plan to immigrate to Germany, so how to apply for primary school admission? Next, let's take a look at the German primary school admission application process. Welcome to reading.

First, settle down.

All foreigners who come to Germany for permanent residence must settle in local cities.

Second, I received a letter from the school.

According to the local city hall, if the children at home are between 6- 15 years old, they will receive a letter from the school soon after they settle down, which will remind parents that it is time to send their children to school. If you immigrate to Germany before the age of 6, you will receive a letter from the local school about 15 months before the age of 6.

Third, visit the school

After receiving the reminder from the school, we will start enrolling students from the school. If you want your child to enter a public primary school, parents have little choice but to go to the school mentioned in the letter first, that is, the public school allocated by the government, usually in the area near their home address. If you don't want to go, you can only choose to enter a private primary school.

After receiving the school admission reminder, parents can visit the school with this invitation letter.

Fourth, make an appointment for the entrance examination.

The school will discuss with the parents again and make an appointment to give the children an entrance exam, for example, one month later.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) entrance examination content

Test what? It mainly tests the children's German level and whether they can keep up with the primary school curriculum. This German level is only a simple German listening and speaking ability, not a test of grammatical correctness. So this entrance exam is usually an oral exam. In the test, the teacher will say a German word, such as Eizenbahn (the correct word is Eisenbahn), and then ask the child if this word is correct.

If the child is unlucky and fails the first entrance exam, the teacher will make an appointment for the second exam according to the child's performance (possibly due to factors such as nervousness), or if the child's German level is not enough, the school will arrange extra free language classes for the child.
