The Historical Position of Dahuofang Reservoir in Fushun

Dahuofang is the first large reservoir in China's first five-year plan, and the second largest reservoir in China at that time. Now it has become an important source of drinking water for residents in Shenyang and Fushun. Dahuofang Reservoir has a long history. People lived here as early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and there are still a lot of historical sites.

According to the investigation in June and September, 22, there are 61 species of zooplankton belonging to 35 genera in Dahuofang Reservoir, including 18 species of protozoa, 24 species of rotifers belonging to 13 genera of 9 families, 13 species of Cladocera belonging to 8 genera of 5 families, and 6 species of copepods belonging to 5 genera of 2 families. The annual average number and biomass are 17,677 /L and 2.647 mg/L. In horizontal distribution, the number and biomass in the middle reaches are the lowest, and the number and biomass in the lower reaches are the highest. Zooplankton in the reservoir can provide 793 t fish productivity for zooplankton-eating fish every year.

Located in the middle and upper reaches of Hunhe River, a tributary of Liaohe River, Fushun City, Liaoning Province, 18km away from Fushun City and 68km away from Shenyang City, it is a large-scale water conservancy project with comprehensive utilization of flood control, water supply, irrigation, power generation and fish culture.
