Currently, there are several national-level ecological function reserves in my country.

The State Environmental Protection Administration has recently officially approved the establishment of 10 national ecological functional reserves in 9 provinces and autonomous regions as pilot projects.

According to a press conference held by the State Environmental Protection Administration today, this is the first batch of national ecological function

pilot projects for the construction of protected areas determined by our country.

These nine provinces and autonomous regions are: Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, and

Xinjiang. The first batch of 10 pilot projects for the construction of national ecological functional reserves are: Horqin Sandy Land Protection Area at the northern foot of Yinshan Mountain, Sanjiang Plain Reserve, Poyang Lake Reserve, Dongting Lake Reserve, Zoige-Ma Qu Nature Reserve, Qinling Mountains

Property Area, Heihe River Basin Nature Reserve, Yangtze River Source Nature Reserve, Yellow River Source Nature Reserve, and Tarim River Nature Reserve. Among them, four protected areas at the source of the Yangtze River, the source of the Yellow River, the Heihe River Basin, and the northern foot of the Yinshan Mountain have completed the preparation of the preliminary draft of the planning outline of the ecological functional protection area ahead of schedule.

It is understood that considering that ecological functional reserves generally face triple pressures from population, resources and environment, the construction of protected areas

cannot be completely closed and managed like nature reserves. The main measures taken in the protected area include: stopping all development activities and other man-made sabotage activities that cause the continued degradation of ecological functions; stopping all engineering projects that produce serious environmental pollution

construction; strictly control population growth, and necessary resettlement measures should be taken if the population in the area has exceeded the carrying capacity; change the extensive production and management methods, follow the path of ecological and economic development, and destroy important ecological systems that have been destroyed , it is necessary

to combine ecological construction measures, carefully organize reconstruction and restoration, and curb the deterioration of the ecological environment as soon as possible.

Establishing ecological functional protection zones and implementing rescue protection of these important ecological functional areas is one of the main ecological protection tasks identified in the National Ecological Environmental Protection Outline issued by the State Council. At present, ecological damage in some important ecological functional areas has developed to systemic functional damage, which has or will seriously hinder the economic and social development of these areas, and even river basins and regions. It poses a serious threat to the safety of the local ecological environment. Implementing rescue protection will help protect the existing vegetation and natural systems in the area and prevent damage to the ecological environment and degradation of ecological functions.
