Wuwei dialect, namely Liangzhou dialect, belongs to Lanyin Mandarin-Hexi dialect, which is mainly distributed in Liangzhou, Gulang, Tianzhu, Minqin and other places. Only Gulang dialect is partially similar to Liangzhou dialect.

Liangzhou is the ancient name of Wuwei City, Gansu Province, enjoying the reputation of "the urgency of the world, the country is a vassal" and "the capital of Hexi".
