The clear Hanjiang River gently turns a corner here and flows into the surging Yangtze River. Ships of all sizes come along the river, and under the support of the vast Yangtze River, they sail to the boundless sea in the distance.

But what if you turn your eyes and look back from here?

Along the largest tributary of the Yangtze River to the northwest, through the vast and rich Jianghan Plain, the terrain gradually rises. The river goes over mountains and mountains, cuts into the valleys of Qinling Mountains in the north and Bashan Mountains in the south, and comes to Shiyan, the most northwest of Hubei Province, 440 kilometers away from Wuhan.

If you start from Wuhan and take the Hanshi high-speed train, it only takes two hours to reach Shiyan.

When we talk about it, the first reaction is mostly Wudang Mountain. Because of its fantastic natural landscape and Tai Chi master Zhang Sanfeng's Taoist legend, it is known as "the unparalleled scenic spot in ancient times and the first fairy mountain in the world".

A mountain where immortals live.

Compared with the endless Jianghan Plain, Shiyan, located in the northwest corner of Hubei, is another world with different temperament.

The mountains stretch, majestic and elegant, with long rivers and waterfalls between canyons, deep springs, free growth of dense forests and white clouds, and their own fairy spirit.

The mountains account for half of the country, and the smell of peach blossoms is everywhere. One of the most legendary is Wudang Mountain, a famous mountain in the world.

The 800-mile Wudang Mountain is actually not a specific mountain, but a collection of more than 100 peaks, large and small.

Among them, Tianzhu Peak, the highest peak, is located in the center, with an altitude of 16 12 meters, and the surrounding peaks gather dramatically towards it, as if bowing down to worship.

Such a spectacle of "seventy-two peaks against the golden summit" was regarded by the ancients as a symbol of the protection of some invisible force, as if there were hidden truths that could explain all the problems between heaven and earth.

People in the mountains are "immortals", and various legends make Wudang's immortal legends continue. It is said that Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, once practiced medicine here, and Lv Dongbin, the Eight Immortals, once lived in seclusion here.

Perhaps the most famous is Zhang Sanfeng, a "living fairy". The white-bearded and white-haired old man in "Eternal Dragon Slayer" is described as the ceiling of combat effectiveness and mysterious.

But in real life, he did found Tai Ji Chuan and established the pattern of China Wushu "north shaolin, South Wudang".

Ming Chengzu Judy is a big fan of Zhang Sanfeng. He personally wrote to Wudang Mountain just to meet Zhang Sanfeng, who has long admired him. It also ordered 300,000 soldiers and civilians to build various palaces among the steep peaks according to the regulatory style of the Forbidden City where they lived, so there was the "Forbidden City on the Cliff".

Later emperors were also diehard followers of Zhang Sanfeng, a "true Taoist". They built many buildings, and added more weight at different levels, and finally formed the Qiongge in Xianshan, which lasted for 65,438+040 miles.

The ancient buildings in Wudang Mountain today have 9 palaces, 8 views and 36 halls. There are clouds above the four Tianmen gates in the east, west, north and south, as if they were palaces in the sky through the gates.

The roof tiles of Wudang Jinding on the top of the mountain are covered with distilled gold. When the morning light shines, it is golden. If you want to say fairyland, that's it. 1994 65438+In February, this miraculous ancient architectural complex was selected as "World Cultural Heritage".

Now, if you take the cable car, you can climb the Jinding in half an hour, but I still suggest slowing down and taking a short walk on the ancient Shinto road formed in the Millennium. The name Shiyan itself is related to water. During the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, the Book of Hu Guangzhi recorded that "Shiyan, in the south of the county, was built to irrigate the fields with streams." Shiyan and Shitang, built by people along the river in Ming Dynasty, became the original name of this city.

Maybe it's really a blessing from heaven. Shiyan has not only good mountains, but also good water.

The Hanjiang River, the largest tributary of the Yangtze River, passes through the city and flows into Danjiangkou at Shiyan, giving the city the opportunity to own Danjiangkou Reservoir, the largest artificial freshwater lake in Asia.

1958, 65,438+10,000 builders from Hubei and Henan carried their hands with shoulder poles and bamboo baskets. It took 16 years to intercept the Hanjiang River, and Danjiangkou Reservoir was built.

Describing it as a "reservoir" is somewhat restrictive. Its water area exceeds 1 1,000 square kilometers, which is equivalent to 30 East Lakes in Wuhan.

Since 20 14, it has become the water source of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Transfer Project. A giant artificial river with a length of 1432 km crosses the mountains and leads the surging river directly to the north.

Since then, more than 60 million people in more than 20 cities in Beijing, Hebei, Tianjin and Henan have shared a river with the people of Hubei, and they are no longer trapped by drought and water shortage.

In order to ensure the water quality, Danjiangkou Reservoir cleaned a large number of fish cages and closed factories that might be polluted. 109 national water quality monitoring indicators, 106 reached the national first class, crystal clear, almost directly drinkable.

Such good water attracted Nongfu Spring, a well-known brand of drinking water in China, and Danjiangkou was selected as one of the four important water sources in China (the other three are Changbai Mountain in Jilin, Qiandao Lake in Zhejiang and Lvwan Lake in Guangdong).

Nongfu Spring takes deep water from Danjiangkou Reservoir to produce bottled water in red and white packages, which is the most familiar to the public. If you happen to have a bottle at hand at this time, you might as well look at the origin. Nine times out of ten, it comes from Shiyan, Hubei.

This huge artificial lake is endless, and the winding coastline forms a star-shaped island, which is the Hubei version of Qiandao Lake. Such a beautiful scenery is desirable. Shiyan people simply built a 429-kilometer "Danjiangkou Reservoir Loop" along this lake view line.

In June last year, People's Daily official WeChat selected the nine most beautiful highways in China, and Danjiangkou Huanku Highway ranked first, which was known as "the most beautiful mountain and water highway".

If you want to go to road trip, the highway itself is worth going. Depart from Danjiangkou, go west along the north bank of the Han River, reach the Jiangjun River, and then return east along the south bank of the Han River. This is the most classic route to visit it. Some road sections are also intimately equipped with bicycle lanes, and leisurely riding and deep breathing are simply too healing.

Fairy mountains and beautiful waters breed animism.

In the distant Cretaceous, when the vast Jianghan Plain was still a piece of Wang Yang in Shui Ze, the rocky mountains were lush with trees and lush water plants, and giant dinosaurs strolled leisurely here.

So it is not surprising that dense dinosaur skeleton fossils and dinosaur egg have been unearthed in Qinglong Mountain, Shiyan since 1995.

1989, the skull fossil of "Yunxian Man" was unearthed in Yunyan County, Shiyan, which was100000 years ago. It was the first ancient human who used a hand axe in China, and then Yunyang, Shiyan became one of the birthplaces of human beings.

Shiyan "Hubei Pass" is located in the westernmost part of Hubei Province, with Shaanxi on three sides and Hubei on one side. Known as "the throat of Qin, the gateway of Chu", the allusion of "going to Qin Chu" originated here.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the social situation was turbulent. Today, the Shiyan Zhuxi, which is located at the junction of Qin Chu, is an important checkpoint for the feudalism. In order to resist foreign enemies, Chu built the Great Wall here, which became one of the earliest Great Walls built in China.

When Han Xin, the founding general of the Western Han Dynasty, entered the Central Plains eastward, he sent troops from Hanjiazhou, Shiyan. There is a cemetery by the Bangmu River in the northeast of Yunyang, where Lee Tae, the youngest son of Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, was buried.

The smoke-filled history is hidden in the mountains. In a longer peaceful era, with the benefit of mountains and rivers, the city has also created countless miracles.

When Wanli Tea Ceremony began to connect Hankou with Europe, the Han River became a golden waterway on the commercial road in Wan Li. In the past, goods were distributed in Yunyang, Hubei, Henan, Sichuan and Shaanxi, and the south was very lively.

In 1980s, Shiyan No.2 Automobile Company's automobile production and sales accounted for more than 60% of the national automobile enterprises.

1969, hundreds of thousands of local dialect-speaking builders came to Shiyan and founded "China No.2 Automobile".

For the first time in history, China's first military off-road vehicle was built with a hammer and pliers, ending the history that China people could not build their own cars. Now, in the Dongfeng automobile industry tourist area, tourists can see the whole process of automobile production by walking on the all-line aerial sightseeing channel.

In 2005, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project started, and the Danjiangkou Dam Heightening Project started. It took 8 years to raise the dam 14.6 meters, and to implant165,438+064 steel bars. The water level is higher than Beijing 100 meters.

From then on, the clear water gurgling in Danjiangkou can flow all the way to Beijing without relying on any pumping station to pump water.

Shiyan people "keep a low profile" and manage their own lives in a world.

"China on the Tip of the Tongue" fried Fangxian mushroom, a top delicacy deep in the mountains, which is difficult to replicate because of the temperature and water vapor at an altitude of 2,400 meters.

On the peninsula near Danjiangkou Reservoir, "Wudang Tangerine" grows sweet and juicy, and its meat is tender, so it is listed as a symbol protection product in chinese national geography. The pouting fish that grew up in the water source of Nongfu Spring is particularly delicate and delicious. Exported to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and even Kazakhstan.

Yingtaogou Village in Yunyang, Shiyan is named after the wild cherry trees in the village.

Every March, when people jostle each other under the cherry trees of Wuda University, the snow-white flower trees in Shiyan cherry ditch are dotted with houses on the hillside, which is simply a real version of Xanadu.

In early summer, when the purple cherry fruits were covered with branches, Shiyan people set off again. It's time to pick fresh cherries under the tree. If you go to Shiyan now, you will only taste the sweetness.

Every year, the Dragon Boat Festival, which has a history of thousands of years, will be held as scheduled. Whoever wins the first place will win the prize in firecrackers. Shui Sheng Lake Fishing Boat Open in Zhushan attracts hundreds of people to row boats in the lake every year to compete for fishing skills.
