Are Belarus and Russia the same country?

Belarus and Russia used to be one country, but now they are not. The two countries were separated when the Soviet Union disintegrated, that is, 199 1 August 25th.

Belarus, Russia and Ukraine used to be a nation and all belonged to Eastern Slavs. During the Roman Empire, they lived in the plains of Eastern Europe. Born in Kiev, formerly known as Kiev Ross. Later, different royal nobles separated for a long time, and finally three ethnic groups were formed, namely Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.

The development of history

From the 6th century AD, Slavs began a large-scale migration movement, expanding to the east, west, north and south. At the beginning of the 7th century AD, this process was accelerated by the westward movement of Avars. Slavic tribes gradually divided into three branches in the process of migration: the western branch-West Slavs, the southern branch-Yugoslavia, and the eastern branch-East Slavs.

According to the chronicles of previous years compiled by Brother Nestor in113, there are more than 30 tribes of Eastern Slavs, including two tribes of Paulian in the south and west, who settled in the middle reaches of Dnieper River with Kiev as the center. Slovan tribe in the north and northeast, living by the lake of gillman, with its center in Novgorod.

In 862 AD, Lyurik on the Varyag led an army to capture Novgorod, where the first Russian state was established. His descendant Oleg continued to go south, occupied Kiev and established the first unified Russian country-Kiev Russia. Kiev Russia later developed into a powerful Russian country, and the Eastern Slavs later developed into today's Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians.
