Notice on the application fee for non-immigrant visas in the United States
From June 5438+February 1 2002, all applicants applying for non-immigrant visas in the United States must pay the 830 yuan application fee in RMB. Applicants with application fee receipts of 559 yuan and 405 yuan must make up the difference at the designated CITIC Industrial Bank (click here to see the specific outlets for making up the difference). The embassy will not accept applications that do not make up the difference in application fees.
Through analysis, the practice of purchasing old application fee receipts (namely, receipts of 559 yuan and 405 yuan) by taking advantage of the fact that the old application fee receipts are valid within one year from the date of purchase will make the State Council face serious financial revenue losses. In view of this, the State Council made the above decision.
Q: When will the application fee go up?
A: From 1 65438+1October1,the visa application fee was raised from RMB 559 to RMB 830 yuan. The purpose of this adjustment is to make the visa application fee consistent with the actual cost of consular affairs after the 9. 1 1 incident.
Q: What was the State Council's usual practice after visa fees rose in the past?
A: In the past, the visa fee receipt was valid for one year regardless of whether the visa fee continued to rise in the future. The purpose of this policy is to solve the delay in the interview time of some non-immigrant visa applications caused by the large number of applicants in some areas.
Q: Why did the State Council decide to change the validity period of the 559 RMB visa fee? When will it take effect?
A: the State Council found that many travel agencies and some individuals bought a lot of visa fees at the original price when they heard that the visa fees were about to rise, hoping to continue to use them after 2002 1 1. Therefore, the State Council revised the validity period of visa fees to prevent the huge loss of US dollar income caused by purchasing a large number of visa fees. Therefore, the State Council made a decision to limit the service life of the 559 yuan receipt (and the 405 yuan receipt) to 165438+20021October 30th.
