Miao people are all over the world, mostly in China. A large part of Miao people in the United States came from Southeast Asia in the middle and late 20th century. Miao people abroad are all Chinese and overseas Chinese. The ancestors of Miao people lived in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. However, due to the internal contradictions among all ethnic groups of the Chinese nation, the Miao nationality was driven out of the Central Plains by the Han nationality. Most of them moved south, some moved abroad, some moved to Southeast Asia, some moved eastward to the Japanese archipelago, and some moved northward to the Korean Peninsula and even Siberia and America.
