Historical evolution:

In the tenth year of Shunzhi in Qing Dynasty (1653), the Qing Dynasty promulgated the Liaodong Reclamation Order, and established villages in Beiling Township, where Shandong and Hebei immigrants moved.

1949 the people's governments of masanjiazi district and shaling district and 94 administrative villages were established in yuhong.

1964, Liaoning Provincial Party Committee decided to divide Yuhong, Daxing, Shaling, Shi Yang, Zhaijia, Pan Da, Gaohua, Zhangyi, China-Korea Commune and Beiling, Chenghua and Masi Commune under the jurisdiction of Tiexi District of Shenyang into a new administrative area-Yuhong District.

In May 2002, with the approval of the Shenyang Municipal People's Government, Tiexi District and Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone co-located and established Tiexi New District (informal administrative region). Some administrative areas of Shaling Town, Yuhong Township, Shi Yang Township and Daqing China-DPRK Friendship Township (namely Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone) in Yuhong District are included in Tiexi New District management.
