Xixia Village, Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province

The traffic in our village is more convenient. The village covers an area of 4 1.085 mu of woodland and 6 1.4 mu of cultivated land, including 39 1 mu of paddy field, 223 mu of dry land and 370 mu of orchard. At the end of 2007, there were 493 households with a total population of 138 1.

Xixia Village, located in the south of Zhejiang Province, has beautiful scenery. The scenery is charming. It is an ideal place for vacation and leisure. Xixia village is named after its topography. The village lies at the intersection of two streams. This stream is crystal clear. Surrounded by mountains. Surrounded by mountains and waters.

According to the book Dictionary of Ancient and Modern Geographical Names in Zhejiang Province, the name Xixia used to be called Meixi and Xiaxia. Nowadays, in the local area, except for a road named Meixi and a village named Meixi, the name "Xiaxia" is hardly mentioned. "Gexia" and "Xixia" are very similar in pronunciation. Are they related to each other?

The origin of the name "Meixi" is because a stream runs through Xixia Village (where the township government is located), and it is named after its terrain like plum petals. The reason why the township was named "Xixia" is because the ancestors of the Jin family here migrated here from a place called Xixia in Houtang Street, Jinhua in the Tang Dynasty and settled down along the mountain. To commemorate it, it was named after its hometown "Xixia". This statement has been confirmed in the Dictionary of Ancient and Modern Place Names in Zhejiang.
