Is Shangqiu, Henan the same as Sichuanese?

It's different. Shangqiu dialect belongs to Fu Shang dialect, the Central Plains Mandarin, and is a special dialect in the east of Central Plains Mandarin. It is distributed in Shangqiu, Henan, passing through Shangqiu, Heze, Bozhou and Xuzhou. Sichuan dialect belongs to the southwest mandarin of Chinese, which was formed in the great migration movement of "Huguang filling Sichuan" during the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. It is formed by the gradual evolution and integration of the Sichuan dialect popular in Sichuan before the Ming Dynasty and the immigrant dialects in Huguang, Guangdong and Jiangxi. Shangqiu in Henan is different from Sichuan dialect. The initial consonants and sub-voiced initial consonants of Shangqiu dialect are flat today, and the initial consonants of ancient full-voiced are flat today. Ancient vernacular retains a certain number of words, which is different from Mandarin. The suffix "zi" in Shangqiu dialect replaces consonants, which is very different from the surrounding dialects. In some areas of Shangqiu, the differentiation of sharp group sounds has been preserved, involving 520 commonly used words. Sichuan dialect originated from the ancient non-Chinese languages of Shu and Cuban. Up to now, the original Sichuan dialect still retains words such as "Ba" (Ping Di), "Sister" (Mother) and "Yang" (You) from ancient Shu and ancient Cuban.
