Why are there so few visa-free countries in China?

The explanation we usually hear is that China is still a poor country with a large population. If visa requirements are relaxed, many China people will stay abroad and become illegal immigrants, which will have a negative impact on the society, economy and even public security abroad.

I think this explanation is incomplete, because it can't explain why citizens of other poor countries whose per capita GDP is lower than that of China are not subject to the same strict restrictions on going abroad. Take Japan as an example. The Japanese government is very strict in issuing visas to China citizens, but relatively lenient to Pakistani citizens in China. China's "large population" is also untenable. The population of China accounts for about a quarter of the total population of developing China in the world. Why is this quarter of the population in China more severely restricted than the other three quarters in developing countries?

Some people will explain that China is not the only country that is restricted, and other developing countries are also restricted. However, citizens of all developing countries can often get visa-free treatment when traveling in this area. For example, citizens of ASEAN countries can get visa-free treatment when traveling within ASEAN, and citizens of African countries have similar visa-free arrangements when traveling in their own countries. There is only one China in the world, and China citizens need visas to go to any country in the world.

Overseas discrimination against China passports stems from our indifference to the interests of our own citizens, especially the China government's indifference to the interests of overseas China citizens. In fact, many citizens from developing countries have illegal immigrants in developed countries. Why do they have particularly strict "treatment" for China citizens? The main reason is that the China government is unwilling to actively cooperate when repatriating illegal immigrants, which often leads to the situation that illegal immigrants in China have nowhere to repatriate.

In a word, the embarrassment of China passport overseas is largely due to its own reasons.

What is even more distressing is that some embassies abroad discriminate against citizens holding China passports. In the eyes of embassy officials, foreigners are investors, or at least rich people, and they should greet each other with smiles and develop friendly relations between Chinese and foreign people. If you are from China with a China passport, you are definitely incapable of mixing foreign nationalities. Therefore, it is necessary for the domestic government to treat these people and petitioners. China's embassy abroad is "difficult to enter, ugly face, ugly words". If we can't treat ourselves well, how can we expect foreigners to respect China people?

Passports in Taiwan Province Province can be granted visa-free or landing visa treatment in more than 60 countries, not to mention that compatriots in Taiwan Province Province have not seen the substantial benefits of reunification. Even our own citizens have applied for foreign nationality because their motherland's passports are not easy to use.
