When did nunchakus begin to exist, and where was its earliest origin? Introduce it in detail
It is generally believed that nunchakus originated in Okinawa (the largest island chain between southern Japan and Taiwan Province Province).
Historically, Okinawa Islands have been colonized, influenced and occupied by different countries, and at the same time, they have been trying to fight for independence.
The Okinawa Islands are a part of Japan today, but the Okinawa people are not Japanese. They have their own culture and language (Okinawa), although they have gradually started to use Japanese.
To this day, it is still a mystery how nunchakus were introduced to this island. There are several different versions at present.
Many people think that nunchakus evolved from an agricultural tool, which is usually regarded as a tool for flailing, chewing horses or peeling bark. Others think it was used by the night watchman to call the police.
Another view is that nunchakus were influenced by China Wushu from 13 to 14 century. Okinawa was the birthplace of nunchakus at that time.
A large number of people from China immigrated to Okinawa.
These immigrants from China mainly settled in a city called Jiumi Village, where they practiced a weapon similar to nunchakus, called Shuang Jie gun. This statement has a certain basis, because Okinawa people also read the word "nunchaku" as "Shuang Jie gun".
At that time, Okinawa was divided into three countries: Beizan, Zhongzan and Nanzan (Shanbei, Zhongshan and Shannan). 1429, Hirohito unified the Three Kingdoms and established the Showa Dynasty in Okinawa.
In order to strengthen the control of Okinawa, the Japanese ruler ordered the confiscation of all weapons in Okinawa. However, Okinawa is still full of rebellion, crime, piracy and foreign invasion.
Due to the lack of weapons such as swords and bows in Okinawa, Okinawa people began to learn unarmed combat and later developed into karate.
They also began to use licensed tools as weapons, such as crutches, tea, sticks, sickles, nunchakus and so on.
Japanese martial arts such as karate are secret skills, so there are few historical records about them, and almost all of them are taught by word of mouth from master to apprentice.
Until 1879, the dynasty collapsed and Okinawa became a part of Japan. A new social system has been formed, and Japanese martial arts such as karate are combined with the modern education system. A campaign to introduce martial arts to the public began. Japanese Taisho period (19 10- 1926) was organized in Honshu, Japan.
Japanese traditional weapons: samurai sticks, nunchakus, forks, sickles and crutches
Many martial arts performances were performed. Karate and other Japanese martial arts began to become popular among Japanese.
After the end of World War II, American troops were stationed all over Japan. As a pastime, soldiers began to learn Japanese martial arts. When they returned to Japan, many soldiers opened martial arts schools. For decades, Japanese martial arts have spread all over the world. Nunchakus spread all over the world.
Okinawa is the hometown of karate. Up to now, in several traditional schools in Okinawa, people with high status can choose the weapons mentioned above, and there are many kinds of these weapons (that is, the routines mentioned by China).
Bruce Lee first learned it from his karate friends, and then adapted it.
