"Waxieba", also called "Wajiaba" and "Maoshiba" in Chaohu area, is an early port on Lianhu Lake in Jiangxi Province, and now it is a small village. After the completion of the village, there was a problem: in the West Huangshan area, mountains and rivers often poured down, which was difficult to control. In order to ensure the agricultural production in the downstream area, a dam must be built on the West Huangshan Mountain to regulate the falling water and ensure a good harvest.

Xu and Huang went to West Huangshan together, accompanied by Zhuang. When they came to the mountainous area, they chose a narrow mountain pass facing downstream to build the dam, which was about150m long. The height difference is more than 6 meters. Through this dam, the landscape forms a small lake in front of the dam. This is the prototype of Hongjiatuan's present reservoir.

After the completion of the dam, a village guarding and controlling the dam-Xujiaba Village was formed. Xujiaba village is square. Its base is located on the gentle slope under the dam, and there are nine alleys planned in the village-also called "Jiulong Save the Pearl". There is a sewer in the alley and a small pond in front of it. When it rains, the water from the village enters the pond through the sewer. This is a village with a well-designed sewer system. After the completion of Xujiaba. A small village was built in the east of it, where the owner of Houxujiaba, Hong Jia, lived.

The Hong family moved from Huizhou. According to genealogical records, they are descendants of Shexian observers in the Tang Dynasty, also known as Guilin Hong. After Hong came to Xujiaba, he began to expand slowly. And become the largest family among them. During the Qianlong period, they built the Hongshi ancestral hall, the only ancestral hall in the village. After Hongjia gained the leadership of the village, the name of the village gradually changed-Xujiaba was changed to Hongjiatuan, and the small reservoir originally formed by dam construction was also changed to Qingshuitang.

In this way, the Hongjiatuan was formally formed, and the Zhang family, a backer from a small village in the east, also came to the village. Zhang, Hong and other surnames gradually merged, forming the largest clan power in the village. There are still many ancient buildings in the village during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and even the ancestral halls have escaped the catastrophe of the Cultural Revolution and become a valuable cultural heritage of Chaohu Lake today.
