Introduction of water diversion project in central Yunnan

The water diversion project in central Yunnan is an important decision made by the Yunnan provincial party Committee and government. The designed flow at the head of the canal reaches 1.45 cubic meters per second, and the total length of the main water conveyance canal line is 663.9km. At the initial stage of the project, it is planned to use the Benzilan section of Jinsha River in Deqin County, Diqing Prefecture as the water source, and the final water source project will be located in Shigu Town, Yulong County, Lijiang City. The water receiving area includes 30 counties in six cities, namely Lijiang, Dali, Chuxiong, Kunming, Yuxi and Honghe, among which the main canal of Yuxi water conveyance is 89.9 kilometers long, involving Hongta District, Jiangchuan County and Tonghai County.
