Historical Evolution of Dixian Dihuagu

The "Flower Drum" in Nanxian County originated in the early years of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty. It is a folk art form created by Nanxian people in their labor. It evolved from folk songs, minor songs and labor songs. The Flower Drum Opera in Changsha, Hunan Province was formed and developed on the basis of this kind of flower drum, and the enlightenment period of the "Flower Drum" in Nanxian County was a flower drum for children. It developed in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty. At that time, the circus prevailed in towns such as Beihekou and Mulu Lake in Nanxian County, and then it was mixed with the local flower drum, which evolved into a new folk art form, namely the bamboo and horse flower drum. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, a large number of immigrants from the mainland poured in, which coincided with the Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, pushing the "Flower Drum" in Nanxian County to a prosperous period. After liberation, the celebration of land reform and the establishment of cooperative people's communes pushed Huagu to the peak of its development.
