Knowledge of necessary policies for studying in Malaysia
(1) Social visa. Issued to China citizens for tourism, visiting relatives and friends and business activities. The validity period is three months, and the stay period is 14 days. The Malaysian Immigration Bureau has cancelled the issuance of business visas to China citizens for one month. Social visa can't be extended, unless you can't return to China in time due to health reasons or flight problems, you can apply for visa extension at the immigration office with a letter of proof issued by the relevant hospital and airline.
(2) Work and student visas. To work or study in Malaysia, Malaysian companies or schools must first apply to the Immigration Bureau. After approval, the Malaysian Immigration Bureau will notify the embassies and consulates in the applicant's region to issue social visas. After coming to Malaysia, change the corresponding type of long-term visa at the immigration office. To study at the University of Malaysia, the school should apply to the immigration headquarters; Attending high school and below is examined and approved by the state immigration offices.
(3) visiting relatives visa. Visiting relatives in Malaysia can stay for up to 6 months. Parties who work, study and live in Malaysia (Malaysian citizens married to China citizens) should apply to the Immigration Bureau and provide proof of kinship when applying for a visa.
(4) Temporary visitors to Malaysia are required to bring at least RM 500 in cash. The Malaysian Immigration Bureau has strict entry requirements for China tourists (individual tourists), especially women under the age of 30. Those who travel to and from Malaysia many times in a short period of time will be repatriated by the original plane. The Malaysian Immigration Bureau has the right to refuse entry to foreigners who have criminal records, have no financial ability and lie about the purpose of coming to Malaysia.
Second, the customs regulations
(1) entry: 1. Before entering the country, tourists must declare all items that need to be taxed or prohibited. The Customs has the right to require passengers to open their luggage and articles for inspection as needed, which is authorized by Article 103 of the Customs Law. There is no tariff on travel between East and West Malaysia. Labuan Island in Sabah and Langkawi Island in Kedah are duty-free zones. Except for imported rubber and petroleum products, there is no need to pay for other items. 2. Green and red channels. Red and green channel systems are used at some ports, especially airports. Those who don't carry any prohibited or dutiable articles go through the green channel and change to the red channel, and take the initiative to declare to the customs staff.
(2) According to the Customs Goods Tax Law 1996, the tax is levied at 30% of the actual value (or valuation) of the goods. Duty-free items such as fountain pens, lighters, books, newspapers and magazines, perfumes, cosmetics (excluding powder), portable radios, watches, cameras, video cameras, computers, fishing gear, ball games (except golf) and various musical instruments (except piano). According to article 19 of the Customs Law 1988, foreign travelers can enjoy some goods duty-free treatment if they meet the following conditions: 1. Related items are carried by tourists or put in luggage; 2. Related articles are private articles that are often used at ordinary times; 3. Tourists need to convince customs officials that he is not a Malaysian resident and intends to visit Malaysia for at least 72 hours; Visitors are not allowed to transfer the relevant preferential places to others for use. Names of related articles: alcohol (no more than 1 l), cigarettes (no more than 225g, equivalent to 200), matches (no more than 100), cosmetics, soap, toothpaste, new clothes (no more than 3) and new shoes (no more than 1 pair)
(3) the deposit system. If tourists bring personal taxable items, they can bring them into the country after paying a deposit equivalent to 30% of the tax at the customs. The deposit will be refunded when the tourists concerned leave the country, provided that the tourists leave the country within 3 months. When leaving the country, they need to show the relevant goods and deposit receipts to the customs officers and pay the stamp duty of RM 30.
