How to obtain Mongolian citizenship

Foreign citizens and stateless persons can obtain Mongolian nationality in accordance with legal provisions.

Article 9 of the Mongolian Nationality Law: Conditions for obtaining Mongolian nationality

To obtain Mongolian nationality, the following conditions must be met:

1. Have a certain level of living Abilities and sources;

2. Have certain knowledge of the customs and habits of the Mongolian people, the official language, and the Mongolian Constitution, and have resided in Mongolia for five years before applying for citizenship;

5. Since the citizen has become a Mongolian citizen, the relationship established between the citizen and a foreign country should not damage the reputation and interests of Mongolia. 2. The conditions stipulated in the first paragraph of this article do not involve the Mongolian nationality of minors who request to restore their nationality in accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of this Law.

Foreign citizens who have made outstanding contributions to Mongolia, or who have mastered professions and skills that Mongolia urgently needs, or who have made or are likely to make outstanding achievements in a certain scientific field, regardless of whether they meet the requirements of Article 1 Subject to the first two conditions of this paragraph, Mongolian nationality can be obtained with the approval of the President.
