That's not necessarily true. If you immigrate to the United States, you have no American nationality, but live in the United States, then you are an overseas Chinese. If you have obtained American citizenship, according to the laws of China, China does not recognize dual citizenship. When you acquire American citizenship, your China citizenship will be automatically lost.
