The formation of the sect

The protest spirit of Protestantism can be traced back to some of the forerunners of the Reformation in the 14th century, the Wycliffes and Rollas in England Followers of the Germans, the Hussites in Bohemia, and Savonarola in Italy. In the 1620s, Martin Luther launched the religious reform movement in Germany, which quickly swept across Germany. After the religious wars, according to the subsequent contracts signed, such as the Peace of Augsburg in 1555 and the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, the principle of religious conformity established by the state, formed the layout of Protestantism in Europe, and the distribution of Lutheranism In Germany and the Nordic countries; the orthodox ones are Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Scotland.

From the end of the 16th century to the 17th century, the main Protestant denominations had basically taken shape in church organization and worship rituals. After a long period of debate, the identification of doctrine has gradually become a system. Protestant theologians wrote a large number of theological works, but most of their contents were mainly tedious debates and textual research, and they lost the vitality of the protest spirit in the early days of the Reformation. In the mid-17th century, the Puritan movement in England demanded Calvinist reforms to compromise the conservative Anglican church. As a result, the Protestant movement took another step forward and gave rise to new sects that broke away from the Anglican church, such as the Presbyterians, Congregationalists, and Baptists, Quakers, etc. With the immigration to America, Protestantism also became the majority of American denominations.
