Distribution of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang

Uighurs are widely distributed, and Xinjiang is divided into northern Xinjiang and southern Xinjiang. Uighurs are mainly distributed in most areas of southern Xinjiang, such as Kashgar and Hotan, and widely distributed in Hami, Turpan and Urumqi in the eastern part of northern Xinjiang.

Kazaks are mainly distributed in Altay, Tacheng, Yili, Rem Kazak Autonomous County and Barkun Kazak Autonomous County. Hui nationality is widely distributed, but most of them are still in northern Xinjiang;

Most of the Kirgiz people live in Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in southern Xinjiang, and the rest are distributed in Wushi, Aksu, Dongsha, Yengisha and Tashkurgan.

Mongolians are mainly distributed in Bayingole, Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture and Hoboksar Autonomous County, as well as Yili, Tacheng and Altay.

Xibo people are all distributed in Chabuchar County, Yili;

Tajiks are mainly distributed in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County in the southwest of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and the rest are distributed in shache, Zepu, Yecheng and Pishan counties.

Uzbeks mainly live in Yining, Tacheng and Urumqi in northern Xinjiang and Kashgar, shache and Yecheng in southern Xinjiang, of which northern Xinjiang accounts for 70%, with Yining being the largest. 30% is in southern Xinjiang, and shache has the largest number;

Manchu mainly lives in Urumqi, Yili, Changji, Hami and other places;

Daur nationality is distributed in Tacheng County, Xinjiang.

As long as Russians are distributed in the northwest of Xinjiang, the number is small;

Tatars are mainly concentrated in Yining, Tacheng, Urumqi and other towns. In addition, there are a few Tatars in the agricultural and pastoral areas of Qitai, Jimsar and Altay counties;
