Shenzhen, referred to as Pengcheng for short, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, a city with separate plans, a mega-city and a special economic zone approved by the State Council. The predecessor of Shenzhen was Bao 'an County, and the main part of Shenzhen belonged to Xin 'an County of guangzhou fu in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The name of Shenzhen was first recorded in the eighth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (14 10).

1979 Shenzhen was founded. 1980 became the first special economic zone in China, the window of China's reform and opening up, and a new immigrant city, creating the world-famous "Shenzhen Speed" and being known as "Silicon Valley of China".
