A list of tips for entering Australia
For students who study abroad, entering the country where they study is the first step to study abroad. So today, join me to learn about the strategies for entering Australia.
Quarantine
Tourists entering from China can pass directly without quarantine. Passengers arriving in Australia from Africa and South America need to undergo quarantine.
Immigration (Immigration)
Immigration officials mainly conduct border inspections, check visas and entry registration cards, and release them if they are correct. During this period, you may ask some simple questions, such as the purpose of visiting Australia? How long will you stay in Australia? etc. If you are asked and do not understand English, tell the inquiring officer that you do not understand English, and free translation services will be provided at this time. Remember not to give random answers if you don’t understand, to avoid misunderstandings. You can choose manual or self-service border inspection. The following is a detailed introduction to self-service border inspection.
During the border inspection process, you are not allowed to use mobile phones, take photos, or make loud noises. If you encounter any problems, wait for the border inspection officer to resolve them, or wait for the translator to arrive and resolve them.
Baggage Claim
After passing the border inspection, you arrive at the baggage hall. At this time, you need to find your flight number on the information board in the baggage hall to confirm which carousel you are waiting for. Checked baggage. When you get your checked baggage back, use the baggage tag to identify whether you have picked it up by mistake. If your luggage is damaged or your checked luggage is not found, please contact airport staff directly.
Customs (Customs)
After getting your luggage, you will officially enter Australia after passing customs inspection. At this time, a customs official will ask if there is anything to declare. They usually ask: Anything to declare? Ask Any food? Wait, if not, just say No. Usually passengers who do not declare will go through customs directly. If they are required to go through X-ray machine inspection or unpacking inspection, they need to cooperate with the customs inspectors as much as possible. While waiting in line, there may be customs officials holding small police dogs sniffing your suitcases. Don’t be alarmed. These well-trained dogs do not harm people. They are just looking for food or drugs.
Filling out the immigration card
The immigration card must be filled out in English, including the passenger’s name, birthday, nationality, flight number, passport number, Australian address, emergency contact person, etc. Friends who come to Australia to study can confirm their accommodation address, phone number and other information with their landlord or school dormitory before departure, and they will be recorded. If you are traveling to Australia to visit your children, you can ask your children to prepare the information on this card in advance and copy it after getting the card.
