General situation of Liaohe main stream

Liaohe River has two sources. The east source is called Dongliao River, and the west source is called Xiliao River. The two sources meet with Xiyuan in Fudian, Changtu County, Liaoning Province, which is called Liaohe River.

Generally, Xiliao River is the positive source, with Xiliao River in the south and Xilamulun River in the north. The two rivers meet at the junction of Onniut Banner and Naiman Banner, which is the main stream of the West Liaohe River. They flow from southwest to northeast, passing through Pingquan County, Hebei Province, Ningcheng County, Wengniute Banner, Naiman Banner, Kailu County, Tongliao City and shuangliao city City, Jilin Province, and continue to flow eastward to Jiaolai River, the right tributary of Baiyin Tarana, Horqin Zuoyi Banner. West Liaohe River and East Liaohe River flow to the upstream of Fudian Hydrological Station in Changtu County, Tieling City, Liaoning Province, and then merge into the left tributary East Liaohe River, which is called Liaohe River (main stream).

The main stream of Liaohe River continues to flow southward, passing through Changtu County, Kangping County, Faku County, Kaiyuan City, Tieling City, Shenyang City, Xinmin County, Liaozhong County, Tai 'an County City, Panjin City, Panshan County, Dawaqie and other counties and cities, and joins the left tributaries of Zhaosutai River, Qinghe River, Chaihe River and Fanhe River and the right tributaries of Xiushui River, Yangyimu River and Liuhe River.

A westbound stream passes through Shuangtaizi District, Panjin City, Taian County, and enters the Bohai Sea after Nalaoyang River in Panshan County. This section, formerly called Shuangtaizi River, is actually the real estuary of Liaohe River. Another southbound stream is called Wailiao River. Sanchahe Hydrological Station joins Hunhe River and Taizi River, and then it is called Daliao River. After Dawa County and dashiqiao city, it enters Bohai Sea in Laobian District of Yingkou City. Since 1958, after the Liaohe River outside Liujianfang was cut off, the Hunhe River and the Taihe River merged into the Daliao River and became independent water systems.

The total area of Liaohe River Basin is 210.9 million square kilometers, and the river length is10.390 kilometers.
