There is a Thousand Buddha Cave on the hillside under South Gate, Fuzhou City, Fugu County, Shaanxi Province, which is close to the Yellow River, with its back against the wall stone and overlooking the cliff, watching the waves. According to legend, a long time ago, there lived in the Thousand-Buddha Cave the daughter of the Dragon King, who was more beautiful than the 33-day-old goddess. She was kind and compassionate, caring for all beings, and often appeared to help the local people, and was deeply loved by the surrounding people. People respectfully called her a living bodhisattva-Dragon Girl Haihong.
More than a thousand years ago in Fugu County, there was a severe drought in the area within a few hundred miles of Fiona Fang on the bank of the Yellow River. It didn't rain for several months, and the land was cracked. The crops were dying, and people looked for water everywhere, so the surrounding villagers went to Longwang Temple for rain. The villagers knelt in front of the Longwang Temple and praised the Dragon King's skill. They recited the prayer for rain: "Call Grandpa Longwang, you are listening, and pity the people on the ground. There has been no rain for ten and a half months, and the crops have become dry layers; Dragon king, dragon king, you are tempted. The hat clouds are pouring out of the south sky, and the clouds are flying all over the sky. The thunder and rain are constantly ringing, and the grain is ripe and the harvest is good. Grandpa Dragon King, you are really amazing! " .
But a few days later, the Dragon King refused to rain. This scene was seen by the dragon girl Hai Hong, and it hurt in her heart. The crops were dying of drought, and the livestock and people could hardly bear it. She was so anxious that she asked her father for some rain. The Dragon King insisted that although I had some private rain in my hand, it was absolutely impossible to rain without the will of heaven, otherwise it would be severely punished. Haihong saw that he didn't convince his father, so he secretly took the rain order while the Dragon King was asleep. Clouds covered the sea red at noon, and it rained at noon. Before the current breeze and drizzle, it rained several times in a row, and the crops turned green, and people and animals also had water to eat, and the earth returned to life.
People were so happy that they thought it was rain from the Dragon King, so they all went to the Dragon King Temple to offer sacrifices and thank them. The dragon king thought, I didn't rain. How can I thank you? After questioning, it turned out that the youngest daughter Hai Hong stole the rain order. Unfortunately, this sensational event was known by the inspector of heaven. Immediately after reporting it to heaven, Hai Hong, the dragon girl, was summoned to heaven, saying that she had violated heaven, rained privately and was executed in the year. With the dancing of steel knives, Hai Hong's flesh and blood fell on the earth one by one.
The next spring, people found that small trees grew everywhere where the sea red was scattered. In autumn, they had grown into trees more than one person high, and the trees were covered with small red fruits. In memory of this dragon girl, Hai Hong, who is merciful and merciful, people call this tree Hai Hong Tree and its fruit Hai Hong Fruit.
The growth, flowering and fruiting of Haihong fruit trees in Fugu Yellow River Valley for generations have experienced nearly a thousand years. There is such a description in the article "Food Goods" in Fugu County annals: "The sea red tastes sweet and sour, purple after frost, and it is resistant to freezing and frozen fruit; Soak the drunken fruit in wine, boil off the slag and dilute the peony bark, slice and dry the dried fruit. " In Fugu, the sea red fruit is more than these edible methods recorded in historical materials. Villagers will also make sea red fruit into canned food, fruit juice, jam, fruit wine, fruit vinegar, and sometimes take the place of hawthorn as medicine. The food made of sea red fruit is a good treat for local guests.
Huang Zhai, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, once wrote a poem praising the sea red fruit. The poem said:
Lin Qiu picked a small basket, and
the wine soaked in a bottle tasted more fragrant.
from the cold-resistant acid brewing,
remember from the garden full of wind and frost.
the pile of plates is upright and the heart is red,
the frankincense is evenly spread out of the urn nursery.
the children in the village are red in the cheeks, and
they are as drunk as betel nuts.
There is a village near Fugu County called Haihongliang, which is also known as Changshou Village. When this village was called Changshou Village has no evidence to test. It's just that there are more than a dozen elderly people who are 9 years old or even over 1 years old in this village. The village is not big, so almost every household has four generations under one roof. This village is not only rich in longevity and old people, but also famous for its rich sea red fruits. 92-year-old Wu Xiuyun and 96-year-old Li Xingwang, an old couple, have lived in Changshou Village since childhood. They both grew up eating sea red fruits. A few years ago, their grandson bought a new house in the city and wanted to take the old birthday girls to the city to enjoy their happiness, but they just didn't want to leave the cave where their ancestors had been used to warm in winter and cool in summer, and they couldn't live without the sea red fruit used to snacks.
Someone asked the old people in Changshou Village why they can live longer by eating sea red fruits. With gratitude and happiness, they said assiduously: Our caves are warm in winter and cool in summer, the mountains are good, the water is good and the air is good, and the sea red fruit is a living bodhisattva who is merciful and merciful in our hometown-the dragon girl Hai Hong, a fairy fruit given by her compassion, kindness and love for all beings. This kind of small fruit is not only beautiful but also delicious, which is better than those apples and pears.
