Lee Hsien Loong graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK in 1974. In 1979, he obtained a master's degree in public administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. After returning to China, he served as Chief of Staff and Director of Joint Operations and Planning of the Singapore Armed Forces. From December 1984 to February 1986, he served as the Minister of State for the Ministry of Defense and the Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore. In 1986, he was appointed Acting Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore and was promoted to Minister of Trade and Industry in December of the same year. Responsible for supervising the Department of Defense from July 1994 to July 1995. In 1997, he was re-elected as deputy prime minister of the government. In 1998, he concurrently served as Chairman of the Monetary Authority. In 2001, he concurrently served as the Minister of Finance of Singapore. On August 12, 2004, he became Singapore's third Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. In December of the same year, he was elected Secretary-General of the People's Action Party. Re-elected Prime Minister on September 12, 2015. In July 2020, Lee Hsien Loong was re-elected as Prime Minister.
During his tenure as the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong conducted various forms of reflection and review on many policies and measures, which can be summarized into three major aspects: "flexible management-based meritocratic new policy", "friend-dialogue dynamic balance new policy", “A New Deal for Prudential and Open Democracy.”
