The prototype of Ningmin Town is Ningmin Town, Yongning County, Yinchuan City, Ningxia.

"Ning Min Town" was produced by midday sunshine, directed jointly by Kong Sheng and Sun Molong, starring Huang Xuan, Zhang Jiayi and Yan Ni, starring Huang Yao, Rayza and Bai Yufan, and written by Wang Sanmao and Weixi. It was broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV, Beijing Satellite TV, Oriental TV, Southeast Satellite TV and 10/2.

The play tells the story that since the 1990s, under the guidance of the national poverty alleviation policy and with the help of Fujian counterparts, the people of Xihaigu have moved, constantly overcome various difficulties, explored the way to get rid of poverty and become rich, and built the "dry beach" full of sand and stones into a "golden beach" with an inch of land and gold.
