Brief introduction of Liu family in Shandong

Liu Guteng, Tengzhou, Shandong:

Formed in the Ming Dynasty, it came from Shanxi, with Liu Yuan as its ancestor.

According to the records in the genealogy of Guliuteng family provided by Mr. Liu Xigong, Liu Yuan, the founder of Guliuteng family, was born in the fourth year of Taiding in Yuan Dynasty (1327), and was from Hongdong County, Shanxi Province. At the end of Yuan Dynasty, the war in Shandong was serious, a large number of people died, and even there was a tragic scene of ten rooms and nine empty rooms. After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang decided to immigrate to Shandong in large numbers from Shanxi in order to restore Shandong's economy. In the second year of Hongwu (1369), more than 800 people, including Liu Yuan, immigrated to Shandong from their hometown of Hongdong County, Shanxi Province under the leadership of demoted official Gong Li. Liu Yuan, then 22, was also promoted as an immigrant by Li Gongju. After 1 many long journeys, this huge immigrant team first came to Shan County, Shandong Province, where it began to divide: some stayed in Shan County, some moved to Haizhou, and some moved to Yanzhou in the north. Liu Yuan, the ancestor of the Liu family in Guteng, led his wife and children to move to Wangzhongshe, a historic town in Tengxian County. After Liu Yuan's family lived in Wangzhong society for more than 20 years, the number of family members gradually increased. Seeing that the place is small, the population is large, and he doesn't like being too close to the urban area, Liu Yuan moved north to sparsely populated Liu Zhuang. A few years later, due to good management, he bought a large area of farmland in the north of the village, built a house and renamed it Daliujiazhuang (now Liu Zhuang, Dawu Town, Tengzhou City, Shandong Province). Hundreds of years later, the Liu family lived here for generations, forming a local noble family.

This Liu family is very prosperous, not only with a large population, but also with talented people. Now it has grown to about 50,000 people, and trained a large number of outstanding figures such as Liu Dexu, a scholar in Qing Dynasty, General of China People's Liberation Army and Liu, a famous contemporary writer. The Liu family in Gu Teng is mainly distributed in Tengzhou, Zaozhuang, Shanting and Huishan.

Guxiu has its own Liujia Temple, and takes "Chongshan Hall" as its name. Liu Yuan, the ancestor of Liu who moved to Gu Teng, died in Jingtai in the seventh year of Ming Dynasty (1456) at the age of 84. Mrs. Wang, daughter of Wang Cheng in Linfen County, Shanxi Province, gave birth to 1 son: Liu Wu.

Liu Wu II, who died tomorrow in the eighth year of Shunshun (1464), was 82 years old. His wife Qin gave birth to six sons: Liu, Liu Xundian, Liu Xunyu, Liu Xunwei and Liu Xunxiong.

Liu Family in Liuzhai, Cao Xian County, Shandong Province:

Formed in the late Ming Dynasty, it came from Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province, with Steven Liu as the ancestor of Cao Kaiji and Liu Yuanming as the ancestor of his surname.

According to 1995 Liu's genealogy provided by Mr. Liu Hengxin and compiled by Liu Naibang, Liu in Caoxian County, Shandong Province belongs to the branch, the birthplace of Liu in Han Dynasty, Liu Bang's hometown, Zhaozhuang Jinliuzhai, Fengxian County, Jiangsu Province. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, Liu moved to Shandong due to the war and settled in Liufangdian, about 50 miles southwest of Shanxian County, Shandong Province. The ancestor of Kaiji moved from Shan County to Dinggu Village, more than 60 miles southeast of Cao County, and his descendants lived here for generations, because Dinggu Village was changed to Liuzhai.

The descendants of Steven Liu have now reached generation 18, with a total population of over 3,000. The people are mainly engaged in agriculture, concentrated in the villages in the southwest of Cao County and Shan County.

Liu of Cao County has revised the score six times in history. According to Liu's Preface to Liu Lou in Heze in the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934), Liu Lou in Heze is a descendant of Liu Litang, the hometown of Han Gaozu, with Liu Xingtai as his ancestor. According to the spectrum, Liu Xingtai is the 54th generation grandson of Liu Bang, the ancestor of the Han Dynasty.
