Baggage requirements for international flights:

1. The weight system is implemented on general flights. Usually, the free baggage allowance for economy class is 20 kilograms. But some airlines are different. It depends on the ticket.

The so-called "piece-by-piece" system is implemented for flights to the United States. In fact, the weight and the number of pieces are limited.

It is generally agreed internationally that the three sides of each piece should not exceed 158 cm (economy class). For example, the three sides of your box are 70 cm, 60 cm and 28 cm respectively, which adds up to 158 cm. Such a box size is acceptable.

In fact, in practice, as long as the luggage is not unusually large and its size can be transported to the luggage conveyor belt, the staff will not rigidly measure the length of each side.

Passengers should also pay attention to the weight of each piece.

For example, some airlines stipulate that the checked baggage is limited to 2 pieces, each with three sides and no more than 158 cm, and each piece weighs no more than 32 kg. Then you should do this: prepare two boxes that do not exceed the size limit, and each box should be as full as possible. As long as the box does not exceed 32 kilograms, you don't have to pay the overweight fee. A total of * * * can take 64 kilograms of luggage.

But if your box is very small, you have prepared four boxes, each with only 10 kg. Although it is only 40 kilograms, airlines still have to charge extra for overweight. Because there are more than two pieces.

One of the purposes of implementing this system is to encourage passengers to send luggage as little as possible, so as to improve loading and unloading efficiency and reduce baggage errors. In addition, this piece-by-piece system can check up to 64 kilograms, which is much higher than the free baggage allowance of 20 kilograms for European flights, which is a great discount for passengers.

The restrictions on hand luggage vary too much among airlines to be generalized. However, it will be more consistent to bring an extra laptop. If the weight is limited to 5 kilograms, you can take a laptop with you on the plane in addition to 5 kilograms of hand luggage.

Luggage weight regulations for international flights:
