When was the Mao Dun Literature Award established?
Mao Dun Literature Award is a novel literature award established in the name of Mr. Mao Dun, a famous China writer. It was established to encourage the creation of excellent novels and promote the prosperity of China literature. From 1982, the selection is made every four years. It is one of the highest literary awards in China.
Mao Dun Literature Award is sponsored by Chinese Writers Association.
Mao Dun held high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory, guided by Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, followed the literary direction of "serving the people and socialism", carried out the policy of "letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend", promoted the main theme, advocated diversity, encouraged attention to real life, embodied the spirit of the times, adhered to guidance, authority and fairness, and produced novels with profound ideological content and rich aesthetic significance.
