How to study in Canada with a college degree?
I. Continuing professional courses
The misunderstanding of many college students applying to study in Canada is to take China as an example, thinking that since they have studied junior college in China, they will go abroad to study at universities or graduate schools. In fact, vocational education in Canada is very developed, and many vocational courses are offered in public colleges. From the perspective of employment, it is a good choice for domestic college students to go to Canadian universities. If you don't do well in junior college and are not very interested in academics, and your future goal is to immigrate to Canada, then it is more appropriate to choose Canadian public colleges such as Fanxiao College, Georgia College and St. Clare College. Many Canadians also go to junior colleges to study some applied courses after graduating from college.
Second, undergraduate course
For college students or graduates, if they have no language scores, they can apply directly to colleges or universities in Canada; If you have no language scores, you can apply for conditional admission to a college or university. Students applying for the same major in university can apply for transferring some credits. Transferring credits generally requires regular universities and provides detailed course descriptions.
Canadian universities rarely recognize the credits of China students, so it is generally difficult for China students to transfer to Canada. However, some colleges can recognize credits from China, such as the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), which can recognize credits from China students. This can greatly shorten the time and expenses for China students to study in Canada. Another way for college students who are studying or have graduated in China is to take credit transfer courses in Canadian universities. After these courses are completed, they can often go to good local universities to continue their junior and senior courses, such as Noble Forest College. So far, many China university students have been promoted to famous local universities, such as UBC University.
Third, special promotion.
It is almost impossible for China University graduates to directly apply for the Canadian master's program. Because many public universities in Canada only accept applications from full-time four-year undergraduate students with bachelor's degrees from China University, it is not suitable for junior college students in China to directly apply for master's programs in Canada. However, this does not mean that China university students can't go to Canada to study undergraduate and above. Because in Canada's education system, there is an education between bachelor's degree and master's degree, that is, postgraduate diploma, which is equivalent to the first year of master's degree, and it is also a kind of academic education recognized by Canada, and the admission requirements of this course are far lower than the formal master's course of public universities, and even students from China can be accepted, so this kind of academic education is very suitable for China students. Moreover, such courses can often help China students to find jobs and emigrate locally, and really help them realize their dream of obtaining permanent residency (that is, green cards).
This kind of postgraduate diploma course has strong application, but it should be noted that postgraduate diploma is not a degree course. The minimum entry requirements for this diploma are:
1. Three-year diploma issued by universities and institutions of higher learning approved by the administrative department of education of China municipal government (only applicants with two-year diploma need to complete the full-year course credits of the third year of university) or undergraduate diploma.
2. The average score of the applicant's three-year junior college or undergraduate course is not less than 2.5 (out of 4.0).
3. No bad moral character and criminal record.
