Maltese MPRP application requirements

The Malta Permanent Residence Program launched in 2021 is a PR program that allows non-EU nationals to invest in Malta. The MPRP offers third country nationals the opportunity to obtain second residency in Malta. The Malta permanent residence program is only open to non-EU nationals who have stable resources to support themselves and their families. Applicants must provide no criminal record and evidence of wealth and sources of funds. In this regard, applicants and their family members will pass a rigorous level four due diligence test. The following specific application requirements are as follows:

1. Over 18 years old;

2. Non-EU citizens;

3. Asset requirements

Applicants must also provide evidence that they hold at least €350,000 (€350,000) in capital and €150,000 (€150,000) in financial assets.

4. Eligible family members

The main applicant can also include the following family members in the same MPRP application:

a. Spouse of the main applicant or partner;

5. Immigration investment requirements

In order to benefit under the MPRP, applicants must meet several criteria. The main applicant must meet the following requirements:

a. Pay a government application fee of €68,000 if buying a property in Malta, or €98,000 if renting a property in Malta;

b. Donate at least €2,000 to a charity or NGO;

c. Rent or buy a property in Malta

If the property is located in central and northern Malta, The minimum purchase price is €350,000 or the annual rent is €12,000; in the case of the Southern Region of Malta and Gozo the minimum purchase price is €300,000 or the annual rent is €10,000.
