Strategy of US Customs

As the only border management agency in the United States, CBP shoulders the important responsibility of protecting the United States and its citizens. The strategy adopted by CBP to strengthen security and promote legitimate trade and travel is:

Improve the risk target screening system and publicize the arrival information of people and goods in the United States in advance; Establish partnerships with governments and enterprises of other countries (regions) to promote the "outward expansion of safe areas"; Use pre-inspection technology to configure related equipment; Increase the manpower of border security supervision; Join hands with other institutions to crack down on trade fraud, intellectual property infringement, money laundering and other activities, and coordinate and control the delivery of illegal drugs.

The US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) has about 30,000 employees and is one of the largest investigation agencies of the federal government. The Bureau is the main investigation agency under the Department of Homeland Security, and has been entrusted with many responsibilities: intercepting terrorist financing, anti-money laundering, cracking down on illegal arms trading, cracking down on immigration fraud and human trafficking, detaining and expelling foreign criminals and other foreigners that the United States believes should be expelled. In addition, the bureau also supervises the enforcement of domestic immigration and customs laws and protects about 9,000 federal facilities.
