Can I bring Chinese herbal medicine to Canada?

Chinese herbal medicines can be brought to Canada, but they need to be declared to the customs and ensure that such products meet the inspection standards of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Canada restricts the import of the following plant products: forest products, wooden packaging materials and pads, cereals and field crops, horticultural commodities, insects, plants with novel features, potatoes and seeds. Importation of the following animal products is restricted: animal pathogens, animal products and by-products, live animals, semen, embryos, pets, veterinary biological agents, etc.

Special note: China citizens are required to declare to the customs when bringing agricultural and fishery products, food, animals and plants into Canada, and ensure that such products meet the inspection standards of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Precautions for entering Canada:

Entry form is not required for entering Canada, but customs declaration card is required. When going through the immigration formalities, the immigration officer will ask some simple questions, such as the flight, the purpose of visiting Canada, and the contact person in Canada. The immigration officer will stamp the entry stamp on the passport and inform the duration of stay.
