China four major prairie

The four grasslands in China are hulun buir grassland in Inner Mongolia, Xilin Gol Grassland in Inner Mongolia, Yili Grassland in Xinjiang and Naqu Alpine Grassland in Tibet, as follows:

1. Hulunbeier Grassland in Inner Mongolia

Hulunbeier Grassland is named after Hulun Lake and Bell Lake. The whole grassland is high in the east and low in the west, with an average elevation of 65-7 meters and a total area of about 1, square kilometers (149,9). Moreover, there are more than 5 lakes dotted around. Hulunbeier grassland is one of the four grasslands in the world, and it is also known as "the best grassland in the world".

2. Xilin Gol Prairie in Inner Mongolia

Xilin Gol Prairie is named after Mongolian, which means "River in Hilly Area". Xilingol Grassland is a part of Inner Mongolia Plateau, with a high-quality natural grassland area of 18, square kilometers, and its terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest. Different from Hulunbeier grassland, Xilinguole grassland is not only distributed with dense river network, but also littered with many low mountains, hills and low-lying basins.

3. Ili Grassland in Xinjiang

Ili Grassland is also called "Nalati Grassland", which means "the place where the sun was first seen". Nalati grassland is a middle mountain grassland developed on the tertiary ancient alluvium, and the southeast of the grassland is connected with Nalati Gaoling, which is like a barrier. Northwest along the upper reaches of the Gongnaisi River valley fault, grassland mountain springs, rivers and streams. At the same time, Ili grassland, like other grasslands in Xinjiang, confronts not only the desert, but also the Xuefeng, thus producing a rich and complex three-dimensional aesthetic feeling.

4. The alpine grassland in Naqu, Tibet

"Naqu" means "Heihe" in Tibetan, and the grassland as a whole is high in the west and low in the east, with an average elevation of more than 4,5 meters. There are many hills and basins in the central and western regions, and valleys in the eastern region. The climate is better than that in the central and western regions of grasslands, so it is also the only crop producing area in northern Tibet. The grassland in northern Tibet is one of the few undeveloped "virgin land" in the world today, which provides a rare and primitive paradise for people in modern civilization.

Horqin grassland used to be a land with many rivers and abundant water plants in history. According to records, in the 1th century AD, the natural conditions were "the land is fertile and suitable for cultivation, and aquatic plants are convenient for animal husbandry". Until the early 19th century, there were still a large area of grass vegetation and forests in most parts of Horqin. However, from the middle and late 19th century, due to many factors, such as excessive reclamation, deforestation and immigration in the upper reaches of Liaohe River, the water source in the lower reaches was seriously dried up and the ecological balance was seriously damaged. The north of Chifeng, once known as "8-mile flat pine forest", has now become a vast sandy land.

due to the unreasonable utilization of grassland by human beings, Dianzi land is shrinking, Tuozi land is expanding, and the desertification area is increasing sharply, eventually forming a large sandy land. The relative area of Tuodian is 3∶1, which directly threatens the development of production and human life. In order to prevent desertification, grassland degradation and soil salinization, measures such as grassland enclosure, ploughing and replanting, artificial grass planting, flood diversion and siltation, prevention of overgrazing and construction of shelter forest have been taken, and good results have been achieved.
